Welcome to Virginia Bouddha Vihar

We are a non-monastic American Bengali Buddhist Temple, founded in 2011, with an ethnically and racially diverse fellowship offering services and education programs. Bengali Buddhists, (বাঙালি বৌদ্ধ), are a religious subgroup of the Bengali people who adhere to or practice the religion of Buddhism. Bengali Buddhists are followers of Therevada Buddhism.[1]

Our Mission

Vihar’s programs serve our spiritual need to see ourselves and the world through a "Buddhist eye" by sharing the teachings of the Buddha Dharma. Virginia Bouddha Vihar also seeks to develop a Buddhist community that provides friendship, refuge and support to its Sangha members.
